Cottonwood Residential is proud to announce a major milestone in our continued growth: the successful integration of 16 multifamily communities across the country as part of the recently completed RealSource portfolio transaction.
This expansion marks a significant step forward for our platform, strengthening our presence in existing markets while extending our footprint into new states; all while reinforcing our commitment to operational excellence, resident experience, and long-term value creation.
A Strategic Growth Move
As part of the transaction, Cottonwood Communities, Inc., a publicly registered non-traded REIT, acquired 11 multifamily communities totaling more than 3,500 apartment homes. In addition, Cottonwood Residential assumed third-party management responsibilities for five additional communities, further expanding our operational reach.
This acquisition increases the Cottonwood Communities portfolio across 15 states, reinforcing Cottonwood Residential’s role as a trusted owner-operator and management partner nationwide.

With this growth, Cottonwood Residential has meaningfully expanded its presence in several strategic regions:
- Ohio – Strengthening our Midwest footprint with communities in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Fairfield
- North Carolina – Deepening our presence across Raleigh, Winston-Salem, and Greensboro
- Georgia – Continued expansion in the Atlanta metro area
- Texas – Additional scale in the Houston market
- Kentucky – Growth across Georgetown and Lexington
- Colorado – Entry into the Colorado Springs market
- Nevada – Third-party management expansion in the Las Vegas metro area
